The rhyton is made like the head of a goddess, likened to the Almighty Mother Goddess Bendida. According to the ancient Thracians, Bendida is the patroness of fertility, nature and marriage. She is considered the protector of the spiritual connection between the human and the divine, as well as of ancestral unions.
The elongated face of the goddess has proper features, which proves the exceptional craftsmanship. Her hair is pulled back and parted in two. A necklace is depicted on the neck, which has a medallion with a lion's head in the middle. The handle of the rhyton is column-shaped and ends with the figure of a sphinx with outstretched wings.
The golden ritual service includes a phial (dish) and eight rhytons (cups) with different zoomorphic and anthropomorphic forms. It is considered, that during the ritual feasts the warriors who merited the battle sat in a circle and handed each other the phials and rhytons filled with wine. It is considered, that the amphora was used in the "twinning" ritual. The treasure belonged to an as yet unknown Thracian ruler of the Odrisi tribe, ruled at the end of the 4th and the beginning of the 3rd century BC.
