The phial is extremely masterfully made, which is also the most efficient and convenient vessel for drinking wine among the vessels of the treasure. It is covered with rich decoration arranged in five circles decreasing from the edge to the center, called the omphalos. Near the omphalos is a row of small rosettes, then a row of acorns, followed by three rows of pygmy heads (symbol of potency), increasing in size as the edge of the phial is approached. Each chapter is different from the others. Symmetrically arranged lotus flowers and palmettes separate these motifs.
The golden ritual service includes a phial (dish) and eight rhytons (cups) with different zoomorphic and anthropomorphic forms. It is considered, that during the ritual feasts the warriors who merited the battle sat in a circle and handed each other the phials and rhytons filled with wine. It is considered, that the amphora was used in the "twinning" ritual. The treasure belonged to an as yet unknown Thracian ruler of the Odrisi tribe, ruled at the end of the 4th and the beginning of the 3rd century BC.
